Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of AfterWork Bytes, operated by AfterWork Startup ("we", "us", "our") — our website, web application, and mobile apps (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Using the Service

You can browse tutorials, side hustle ideas, and job listings as a guest, without an account. Creating a free account lets you track progress, earn XP, complete quests, and save jobs. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account.

2. Content you submit

Quests may ask you to submit a link, text, image, or video as proof of completion. You retain ownership of what you submit, but you grant us a license to store, display, and review it as part of operating the quest and review system. Don't submit anything you don't have the rights to share, or anything illegal, harassing, or infringing.

3. Premium subscription

Some content is available only to Premium members. Premium is purchased through our website (processed by Stripe) as a one-time lifetime unlock. The mobile app does not currently offer in-app purchases and does not process payments directly. Your access tier applies across web and mobile — once unlocked on the web, the same content is available to you everywhere you sign in.

Purchases made on our website are non-refundable except where required by law. If we introduce in-app purchases through the App Store or Google Play in the future, those purchases will be subject to the respective store's refund and billing policies.

4. XP, levels, and gamification

XP, levels, streaks, and badges are for engagement and motivation only — they have no cash value and can't be transferred, sold, or exchanged. We may adjust the XP economy, leaderboard rules, or badge criteria at any time.

5. Jobs and quests are third-party opportunities

Job listings and quest opportunities may come from or lead to third parties. We do our best to keep listings accurate and current, but we don't guarantee any job posting, application outcome, or quest reward, and we're not a party to any agreement you enter into with a listed employer or third party.

6. Acceptable use

Please don't:

Attempt to bypass access tiers or payment
Scrape, reverse-engineer, or resell our content
Submit fraudulent quest completions
Abuse the referral, streak, or leaderboard systems
Use the Service for anything illegal or harmful to others

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

7. Service changes

We're actively building AfterWork Bytes and may add, change, or remove features, content, or pricing at any time. We'll try to give notice of significant changes where practical.

8. Disclaimer & limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do; continuing to use the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
